I thought Flint did brilliantly for us but a lot of fans never rated him for some reason. The fact that he burned his bridges with us is irrelevant as we couldn't come remotely close to being able to afford him...

I tend to agree. I thought he was awesome for us. Very rarely beaten in the air and a phenomenal threat up front from set pieces. A proper Centre back who wasn’t scared to put his head where it hurts.

I’m not so worried about the pissing the fan base off. A few sterling performances for us an LS all would be forgiven and forgotten.

But, it’s not going to happen, and it’s probably a good job. Things never normally are as good second time around.

I think most liked Flint (before Griffin Park even) but he did have the turning circle of an Oil Super Tanker.

What strikes me about that footage is how keen they were to get crosses into the box quickly. No checking back and fucking about. Whip it in and see what happens. Insane that we haven't done this more with Austin in the box.

Yep - I've never thought of L2 as overcomplicated. Balls in the box and you will score

Flint will go to Wrexham for the money or one of the teams local to his family who live near Mansfield, so Notts County/Chesterfield, Mansfield, Doncaster etc.

wonder if there will be any surprises. Though I guess Williams and Austin (if not signed) will be "offer made".

The interesting thing will be the options we didn't know about, and whether Lavinier in particular is OOC or not (they never announced his contract length).

http://thetownend.com/index.php?topic=59328.0 From this, I think the OOC players are:

Baudry (Retiring), Brewitt (Option), Harries, Minturn, McEachran (Option), Williams, Parsons, Dabre, Cowmeadow, Austin, Massey, RHM

Wouldn't be surprised if RHM has an option. Then we don't know contract lengths for Brann, Roberts and Lavinier, but that may be clearer with a retained list.

We do have an option on RHM I think. Morris mentioned it.

We do, Morris did indeed mention that.

Lavinier has an extention option I understand and Roberts signed on a 2 year deal it was reported at the time.

He was the biggest disapointment under Morris for me in the end. I thought after working with him he would have performed better but even he got worse.

Found it quite amusing actually that Morris in his oening interview had a little pop about him playing left back then did the samer
