Good that he's here and fingers crossed that is not a massive disappointment, but it is all setting off a few bell's insofar who is leading on all this.

Nothing being said until Austin's side start briefing anyone who will listen that he wants to come back but the dastardly manager and tech director don't want him, leading to all manner of unrest from the fans about the club management.

Not announced by club but then interview with player pops up on Sky, leading to questions being asked again and derogatory remarks being made about the management.

What happens next, Austin doesn't like what's going on  and suddenly everything that's going on in dressing room is being briefed to all and sundry with sky interviews.

Has scope to be brill, has scope to be a total pantomime, fingers crossed its the former, but everyone needs to remember, no one is bigger than the club.
Not sure that's totally fair, Austin doesn't have a team for starters.. I think it will all come out soon enough as to how the deal happened and why it took so long.

I hope that this turns out to be a real masterstroke.  I can't help feeling that this is going to go south in the time honoured Swindon way.

if they think they can get better and make a profit I wouodnt blame them. Don't think he's even a guaranteed starter either so can understand why they would

Why can’t we get a better midfielder than Khan in - to play along side Khan and try and offload those midfielders who aren’t  cutting it.

Going on the back of what others have said, it’ll be interesting to see if Reed plays tomorrow.

If Reed and Khan both go that would leave us short unless suitable replacements are lined up.

Khan to Plymouth is something else I’ve been told is happening.

Khan is a really odd one for me. He works hard and I can see why people like him, but he's not especially disciplined and (stats klaxon) the stats seem to really hate him: Whoscored have him as our lowest rated regular starter by some distance, which is a long way from what the general fan opinion seems to be.

Normally I wouldn't get too hung up on some arbitrary FM-style measure of overall performance, but it's notable that Khan is the only player in there that feels wrong to me - they have FBT, Gladwin, Brynn, Williams and Wakeling as the top five, then Khan behind Shade and Harries. Is he just a unique enough player that a statistical model wouldn't score him correctly? (in which case, weird signing for us!) or is he not as good as the eye test would suggest?

Odd one. I'd certainly be surprised if he ends up playing regularly higher up just yet.

I doubt we would let both go without being confident of replacements.

Khan is definitely more application, stamina, energy & work rate than a ‘technical’ footballer.

I’m trying to think of a Khan equivalent player whose stats you could look at to see if they are an anomaly for their team as well but my mind is drawing a blank.

We signed quite a few players in the summer, some good, mostly poor however the books will need to be balanced I would have thought. Now, I’m not saying we lose both of those boys but I do expect a few to go who joined this summer & perhaps Reed has a value which will help.

Assuming Khan isn't disruptive maybe part exchange with Plymouth is the only way we can afford Jephcott now that Austins is on the payroll.

Khan is the only one I’ve heard could happen. Personally, I’d
Cut ties with Adeloye, Devine to name 2 off the top of my head.
