I'd take Davison. 9 goals in half a season is a decent return

Why do I read this as something is occurring with our CEO?

Angus Macdonald mate, centre half, 29, released from Rotherham. 40 games in the championship in 20/21 season.

Think most strikers with two working feet woulda scored goals with Mckirdy, Payne, Williams, Reed etc behind them. Davison cost us quite a few times. (Yes he also helped us in games)

Think he’d score goals again, but feel like we’d have another season of frustration.

Davidson our marquee signing. I bloody hope not. Even worse if McKirdy is part of the deal.

I will say he has time to improve. Start with those trampoline boots .

Davison was fine, nothing more, nothing less - apart from the play off games where I thought he was dogshit.

Ultimately the ball not sticking up top cost us against Vale (imo) and Davison was the main reason for that

HOWEVER, the real issue was we had no one to replace him with, ever. We couldn’t really rest him during the run in and we couldn’t swap him out in the play offs.

Players have bad games and off days. Davison did more good than harm for us.
We wouldn’t be over reliant on him this season…

You fucking wetwipe, Davison was the only striker second half of season. JML was a bit part squad player who we had no choice but to sub on - we had nobody else.

Good option to have off the bench, for sure. But for me I don’t want him to be the lead striker. I saw that for 5 months last season and felt like it wasn’t as good as it could be.

100 odd games overall in the Championship.

Winchester lad - probably fancies moving bit closer to home.

I think this is spot on. By the time we got to Vale Park he had been flogged to death. The guy works so bloody hard but he really needed to be replaced on 70 minutes in matches towards the end of the season. He was ineffectual at Vale Park but the replacements just weren't up to it.
