Any player who signs for Crawley is showing zero ambition. Good luck though if they sign for a league one club but Crawley makes no sense.
Also FFP needs implementing. No way should a club who struggle to get more than 2k fans through the gate be able to pay wages of 7k per week to any player

Like players care about ambition. It’s money, they all want the money. Nothing more

For all we know, Crawley's new owners may have found a new model for achieving success in lower league football.

But signing for (or remaining at) another league two club does?

I'm not saying your cynicism is entirely misplaced, but I don't think everybody in a any particular profession is going to be motivated by a single factor. What sort of - ism is it to be prejudiced against footballers?

What sort of - ism is it to be prejudiced against footballers? Double your wages, longer deal and security. It’s money it’s football. Glad to see Hunt fixed up as well. Wellens also showing interest. Sad about Payne but agent was all about league one.

What sort of - ism is it to be prejudiced against footballers? Unless you’re at the top level earning mega bucks then you have to maximise your short career earnings in the lower league. I have zero doubt Payne will go to whoever pays him the most, regardless of league, location, ambition, team mates etc

Surely any league two club has to be better than Crawley.

That’s a shame but it sounds like we have had a fair crack at keeping him. No player is worth us getting into financial difficulty over and I hope this now frees up money for another 1 or 2 first team players. Probably better that it gets sorted sooner rather than later in any case.

Journalist Ryan Whelan disagrees that the agent is influencing Payne's decision. https://twitter.com/RyanwFWA/status/1548284756692873221?t=boj-VaPs1asBzmRQSi3sfQ&s=19"Choice influenced by whoever will pay his agent most by any chance🤔" "Not at all! Decision fully down to Jack on what's best for his career. Hence why it's taken so long. Wants to weigh up all the options."
