Darcy next?
I wouldn't mind Darcy but i would like that to be it in terms of squad fillers. Mate is a Liverpool fanand watches the under 23s in Kirky and said he has something about him for sure and reminds him a bit of Joel Matip

Tom Clayton on a perm for an undisclosed fee - 2 yr contract
Disappointed with the contract length unless we have options to extend. Looks a really good signing though.

Haven't looked at his age but guess he is under 25.

Where are these experienced players?

Agree, And I hope Darcy isn’t the Payne replacement also, as a squad filler - fine- but don’t wanna see too many more

On Clayton- I’m shocked it’s a perm. The cynic Swindon fan in me wants to know why Liverpool have sold their 23s captain. That aside, I’m impressed. 2 year deal in all. Direct competition for Harries for the left sided spot. Seems a quality bit of business on paper.

Reality is that, in the top 6, it takes a really outstanding U23 player to graduate to the1st team. Good players, who want to play football rather than boast about being a [Liverpool] player, will generally have to move on.....but the fact that this lad, an  international, and team captain, has chosen us in League 2 seems to me to be something of a coup.

Yeh like I said it’s a quality bit of business, being captain is a huge positive also. Leaders don’t necessarily have to be old seasoned vets, might be good to have a couple younger heads in that mould also.

Clayton has been described as a CB, defensive midfielder or LB. Got to say I’m amazed we’ve signed him on a perm. Seems to chip in with goals quite regularly, too.

Cracking permanent signing. Great pedigree and slightly surprised we've got him. Haven't really felt that from any of our other permanent signings so far. Wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool have a stonking sell on fee and or buy back fee agreed in the contract.

Reminds me of someone else we had on loan years ago. For the life of me I can’t remember his name but I’m sure his nickname was Trigger.

I don't think you bother paying money for someone unless you have the option of keeping them for at least 3. These deals with options seem more and more common.
