By off the field attitude. I couldn't believe how calm and level headed he was on the pitch, clearly completely different off it.

Always baffled me this, could have lumps kicked out of him on the pitch and not flinch. Off the pitch, a total knobjockey

Can't help wonder if there were other influences involved with him

thing is, if he turned up be was good. But you couldn't guarantee he'd turn up (physically). Discipline goes and you are fucked

From Charlton

‘Update on Payne and Reed at Swindon. Payne talks ongoing, he has had offers but wages have not matched what he wants. Reed will still be a Swindon player at the end of the window unless an offer that meets their valuation comes in. Nothing from any club so far. Two offers on the table for McKirdy well below the asking price.’

It's nice to think if we do get rid of players we will get money for them now on our terms,

I did laugh when someone on the fb page posted that we're signing Sol Bamber.

Joining the likes of Nicky Summerbee and Billy Bodin in second generational talents at the club. His Dad Dave must be so proud.

Thanks Aud, some interesting nuggets of information there. The bit about Payne's wage demands not being met suggests that our incredible offer probably falls short of what he wants. Probably time to withdraw that offer and move on with our other recruitment options.

That's a first that we have heard about bids for McKirdy isn't it? Bit of a tough one for us here, 25 goal players do not grow on trees and he became our talisman last season. With his best mate Payne going, (possibly to Charlton) and Garner able to get the best out of McKirdy as well as him being near his beloved London/Chels makes me wonder if his head might be turned and we cash on him now. Could we then fund something for Tyrese Simpson? Although him and McKirdy worked well together so would be a nuisance not to have them both in the side.

Realistically what can we ask for Mckirdy? 200k/300k/400k or so?

But if everyone else is falling short of what he wants as well, then surely we're in with a chance.

Possibly. I suppose it's a case now of who blinks first. It is potentially delaying our recruitment though so how long do we give it? This is eating into Payne's pre-season preparation as well so it's in the best interests of both parties to get something sorted.

What’s the source for this? I struggle to believe they have put bids in for McKirdy given their attacking players already

Simpson 9 goals in 24 games = 600k valuation
So how much does that make Harry worth with his 23 goals in 40 games?

With Simpson you are paying for potential, whereas Harry is probably close to his peak now.
