McKirdy helping Payne clear out the stuff from his Swindon pad? They are good mates so not surprising to see them together. I'm still holding out hope he may be signing a new contract, but as the days pass the hope diminishes.
Obviously we’re not his first choice otherwise he would have signed by now. Our ‘incredible’ offer couldn’t have been that incredible.

Incredible for us. But not perhaps in comparison to a league 1 club. Or complete nonsense. Could be either.

The club have a budget. No player is worth getting into financial difficulties for.
Just shows money talks.

These things always seem to take much longer than you would think they take. I have absolutely no idea but I imagine things have to be properly run by lawyers and agents etc. Or he could have made a counter-offer which the club are mulling over, or whatever. But as the Loathed Strangers Podcast state - Pay Payne!

Could also be to let him know that is the best we can do

What ever JP decides he will have my full support. If he stays I will be over the over the moon but I certainly won't begrudge him a move to a club that pays him more. I think as fans we just need to move on with the expectation that he's going.
I feel a bit disillusioned with STFC at the moment, the whole debacle with the kids replica kits has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I feel this was pure money grabbing and worry about the consequences afterwards but that's another matter.

Well he'll only get my full support if he stays, because I support Swindon Town and not Charlton or Crawley or anyone else. If he leaves i'll loosely wish him the best when not playing us but largely won't be arsed either way.

When I lived in Luxembourg I shared a house with the cousin of Darren Fletcher who had a few stories about Man United players from the Fergie era. Apparently Chris Eagles was far and away the best of that crop of talented players to play in that youth team, but just didn't have the 'fire' to be a footballer and so completely wasted the talent he had whilst 'lesser' talents would put in the effort and go on to have careers at the very top level. I guess it's a fine line between talent and effort (see also, Gazza) in football. Eagles just couldn't be arsed. Perhaps it's the same with Pryce. (albeit at a much lower level)
Nile Ranger was a sublime talent destroyed by attitude.

By off the field attitude. I couldn't believe how calm and level headed he was on the pitch, clearly completely different off it.

Even when around the club he was actually quite charming and approachable. As soon as the floodlights were out of sight it began to change.
