Retaining the 3 re-signing Payne are paramount. That goes tits up and so will we.

The issue will be if we start poorly and don't strengthen in the last week or so of the window people will want and expect proper answers. To assemble the squad of last years with minimal time, to see the fan base prepared to back the board, they won't get that same backing if there is no ambition shown by them in the signings.
They know that and they will sign better quality over quantity to keep the momentum going forward. Keep the faith (or is it just my blind optimism)?
Season tickets arrived today, if we're proper toffee after a few months I will then be asking myself was it worth it.
Until then we'll be good enough for the top 3.

If its 22 then this budget is very obviously Stevie Wonder could see less than last seasons unless we're giving Payne his £5k a week and making another couple of very expensive signings.

said this in a recent post above but if Payne and Bamba really are needed for this squad. Think it will put a lot at ease also. Still think we need at least 5 or 6  if them two sign.

I think you include the youngsters in the squad total. Even if they do go out on loan, I assume we still pick up the wages anyway.

All feels a bit last season at the moment - desperately short up front and lacking in proven squad depth…

…however all those talking about cast offs, let’s not forget Harry McKirdy’s previous before he arrived. Based on his prior career none of you would have signed him…

it's possible he didn't mean it included cowmeadow, minturn, Massey, etc. I know what he said in that interview, but I wasn't convinced

maybe the Twine money will change things a bit.
