With no players leaving and Payne not contracted, we have 19 out of the 25 Lindsey wants.

I'd be happy with no outgoings, Bamba, Payne and an experienced striker leaving us on 22. Might not be realistic but.

We have another 2 season long loan spots to fill yet, hopefully with players rated by their clubs and they want them to do pre season with them before deciding whether to loan them out

But they are guaranteed to be kids as well.

Past Kovar mind... fingers crossed this one works out.

Genuinely baffles me how a goalkeeper can have such bad positional sense. There are two posts and a crossbar helping you with where to stand 90% of the time. He's like watching a kid playing FIFA who has a habit of holding down the triangle button or whatever it is to rush your keeper out these days.

Thank god that nightmare is over.

Slight concern that we’ve got a head coach with only non-league managerial experience, assistant with Bangladesh and Barrow on his CV, and a set of players with shaky periods at other L2 clubs, from Walsall, to Bristol Rovers to Barrow. That is not the recipe for the promotion tilt that Morfuni said we would get in his 2nd season. It’s quite the opposite unless we have mastered some glitch in the system that no other club has.

IF these are speculative punts that will be there to put pressure on the first team signings to come, great. If this is the first team, we’re going to need some luck!

Didn't he say 22 ideal (25 upper limit)

So room for 6 more players, 4 if we say for argument's sake Bamba signs and Payne stays.. I think we might just be alright.

Not going by the latest squad list

??

25 - 22 competing with 3 to go out on loan (Massey for e.g.) makes a lot more sense. That's not exactly what he said though.

What was the reaction when we signed Simpson before the start of last season, he hadn’t scored a league goal. 🤷🏼‍♂️

signed him a week before the season started, don't think anyone expected much that window, given the summer and the 3 week pre season.

This time round we've had a year to consolidate and stabilise. Side note - there's absolutely no reason for any excuses from the club about not getting targets or not getting automatic promotion this season.

4 games for Barrow last season.... not entirely convinced and once again pretty underwhelmed. (are we allowed to be underwhelmed?)

Like a few have said, if you include the youngsters, this squad is filling fast with quite a few inexperienced young lads.

Payne and Bamba and everything will be alright..... but if they don't.... eeek.

Look at the squad list thread, add today’s signing, and there are 19.

There was a time where, in the 14/15 season, we were one game away from the championship. It included the likes of:

Jack Stephens, Jordan Turnbull, Nathan Byrne, Massimo Luongo, Harry Toffolo and Jordan Obika who were all nothing other than under 23 players for their previous/current clubs and came with virtually no experience and/or underwhelming spells elsewhere.

If that model worked in league one there's no reason to suggest it can't in league 2. You need a bit of luck yes, but if we are adding these rough diamonds to a core of Reed, Payne, Williams, Mckirdy, Baudry and potentially Bamba, I'm fine with it.
