Odimayo signing for Northampton
This disappoints me.

Exactly.

Last season we drew 0-0 with Melksham in the 1st friendly on 9th July, our side was -

Wollacott
Strachan (T)
Conroy
Baudry
Hunt
Bell (T)
Lyden
Gordon
Cowmeadow
Oppong (T)
Parsons

Subs
Weir (T)
Minturn
Taank
Dworzak
Boulden (T)
Winchcombe
Bryan (T)
Francis
Fox
Tavares (T)
Ward
Tbh, that starting XI was stronger than today’s. Remember all the hullabaloo about signing Tavares - ended up st Hungerford, I think.

Unlike many I think that's a massive shame.

But he didn't get played, so why stay

He strength was his versatility and ability to cover a lot of positions.

He never proved himself good enough to start. His ability with the ball was awful imo, which is important to how we play. He has/had potential but hasn't kicked on in the 2 years here.

irrelevant! the takeover blocked everything and thus we had a squad of u18s and whatever pros were available.

it doesn't negate the point made though.

it is the first time I can remember a squad being this inexperienced in a pre-season friendly mind. But it doesn't much matter, we'll step it up next week

If Payne goes it starts to look a little concerning considering Gladwin & Williams can't manage 90 minutes on the pitch.

More players will come in. There is a long way to go.

That same site is saying Odimayo has agreed terms with Northampton.

I don’t think he really improved much whilst he was with us, was never going to be a starter I don’t think either.

When he won the adver player of the season award the season before last I assumed that the journalist guy fancied him and fixed it
