Our weakest position is definitely centre half.
Yes indeed

yes. but also centre halfs need adequate protection in front of them .

defending is a team thing

that said, how many goals from set pieces have we conceded? while you have to give the opposition credit from time to time we've let in so many some people aren't doing their job

Some people forgetting that Simpson was a slow starter. Some even describing him on here as a "non footballer". Does Garner deserve praise for his improvement here and who's to say Davison given a pre season couldn't improve also. I'd take him in a shot and both him AND Simpson here would be great work. Sadly doesn't look like happening

Exactly this. I've heard it said, mainly on FB granted, that we give most of our goals away by "fanning around at the back" but I would say we've given more away from utter rank defending from crosses and set pieces

Isn’t is strange that we’re the 2nd highest scorers in L2 when we’ve so often looked completely toothless.

Which is a damning indictment of Garnerball - we’re fine as long as things are going our way.

when we are good we are very good*, but but when we are bad we are awful.

* sort of. There have been games that even if we don't win we look like but for being more ruthless we could..

But there are games where we haven't looked like scoring in a month of Sundays. We are hassled, pressed and find well organised opposition that regroup because we can't easily play out.

It’s a combination of poor centre backs and no leader on the pitch for me. The amount we concede from set pieces just highlights the fact we are completely devoid of a captain to lead and organise the team on the pitch.

Just indicates we can rack up the goals against the poorer teams I guess…or…we are extremely streaky in front of goal

Three 1-0 wins give you 9 points but only three goals scored.

Two 0-1 defeats and a 4-0 win give you 3 points but only four goals scored.

Same as the curtailed PPG Championship season in fewer games.

12 clean sheets then. 11 so far this season.
