Surprised Grant did not make the team tonight (unless he has departed for internationals)

You’d think Grant’s days of playing League 1 football are probably beyond him, but stranger things have happened.
I wouldn't bank on Wellens being at Doncaster much longer the way they're going, although I certainly don't wish him any harm

If Lyden can state fit which is a possibilty now he will not be playing every game and with east looking like he can do a job i don't feel as bad now with Grant not playing. He could realistically e 4th choice now

Let's hope we can find a compromise. He must be on a fairly decent wage, so hopefully another club can take him off our hands and we can use the wages towards another defender or Striker.
In the system we play now, if Reed was to get injured or need a rest, East seems next in line to take that spot, followed by Lyden. Grant is probably 4th choice in that role.
We signed him after the embargo didn't we? So should be on 1.2k. However, I struggle to see how others (Gladwin, Williams) are on similar...

Grant is getting paid by us to have a great time in tropical climes, I think he is probably more than happy with the situation at this point in his career.

Could a move for him be back on after his official transfer listing? https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/james-norwood-transfer-listed-by-ipswich-town-8481142I fully expect Tranmere to sign him again as he did so well up there and they are not under any EFL embargo unlike we are. FGR probably would be in with a great chance too as another of his ex clubs.

Talking of the Tractor Boys, how are they doing, is there any danger of a similar situation to Doyle if Simpson keeps scoring?

Flatter to deceive. Throw leads away almost every game. Would have been beaten by Oldham in the cup if they hadn’t missed a pen.

Yet are sat in 9th place just 4 off the play offs with the highest goals tally in League 1 of 34 and only Fulham have outscored them in the entire top 4 divisions. I don't think there is any danger of him being needed for a recall when they have strikers Kayden Jackson, Macauley Bonne, Joe Pigott, Sone Aluko, Conor Chaplin and Louie Barry all ahead of him.

I am convinced (based on absolutely no evidence) that this was the experienced forward that we were looking to bring in at the start of the season until he got injured. Be interested to see if we are interested in sniffing around in January.

I had heard that we were indeed looking at him pre season and also Bogle at Doncaster but for whatever reason neither came off. I can also understand that finances may not allow us to make it a perm deal in January and also that Garner MAY be perfectly happy with Simpson and may not go after Norwood if he cannot guarantee him a start ahread of Simpson or McKirdy. I think Norwood would be a very good signing and compliment the team.

Anyone know what Ben Chorley's role is at the club in between transfer windows.
