Would like to see us make an offer for 19 year old Alfie Matthews the ex Arsenal striker released by Palace a few weeks ago, good scoring record in U23 league for both clubs.

Probably get a club way higher in the league pyramid than us though.

Not at all, just a few hints and pointers from people who do know things, unlike me.

2 names not mentioned yet are Lee Novak freed by Bradford who has bags of striking experience and also Danny Hyton who has been told he can leave Luton, every year we are linked to him but he sounds a bit more Pitmanesque now, overweight and injured a lot but still knows where the goal is.

I see our lovely blue neighbours down the M4 have sold striker Brendan Hanlon to Wycombe for a fee of about £100k, that means they will be in the same market for strikers as we are and probably able to offer more in wages (currently) than us.

They’re all worried Leon Clarke, who is training with them, will be his replacement.

Can’t put my finger on it, but there seems to be something historically wrong with the Gas.

They seem to sign decent players who then turn to shite at Rovers, then leave and regain their form.

Novak has retired

Hylton I would have loved, but now I'm not so sure, hasn't scored for two years it seems (could be wrong, going off a quick google stat search)

Northern club, pay good wages (in comparsison to crowds) and in L1 seems a perfect fit for him.

Definitely good enough for League One based on recent history. Interestingly Fleetwood are also under the same embargo as us due to the EFL loan. Imagine L1 clubs will have a higher salary limit than L2 under the conditions.
