When Gladwin was here first time he was absolute quality. He could run at people (admittedly not that quickly) but difficult to tackle, had a great range of passing and could finish. If he's anywhere near that standard he is way too good for this league.

Happy if that's the quality we're looking to bring in. Looking forward to seeing more!

Very happy. Quite a similar player to Payne perhaps, not sure if we should read anything about his future into the signing?

I’m sure what persuaded him was Clem/Garner saying ambition was to survive in L2!

That always entices decent players!

He looks leaner than he did before? Or is that just me?

And going by his comments, it seems he didn't get the note.

A fit Gladwin > Payne.

Payne is too much of a luxury player in a league where you need a bit of luxury but a high work rate to succeed, great in spells and when on the ball but hes not a central midfielder for me as he doesn't track back well enough a lot of the time.

I thought that too. I remember him looking a lot stickier before

It’s these sort of signings that may tempt young Odimayo, too.

Re Payne, I’d have him here 100%.

I know Gladwin's not everybody's cup of tea, but I've always liked him.

in truth I always felt he needed to do more in a game.

But when he's on it, he's great.

so far I like Payne more though

Don't forget, Gladwin can fill in a wing back role too.
