The caliber of player we're linked with is heartening.

It is?

Which would still be 1 goal in every 3.57 games... My point stands.

I don't mean to be negative about the lad but unless he brings something other than goals then I won't be getting excited any time soon. That is not a good ratio for an out and out striker.

Still, I'd welcome him on board and get behind him. If he signs.
I know what you are getting at but by comparison even after Doyles great run for us has only scored 1 goal every 3 games in his career.

Jerry Yates has scored 1 for every 4.1 games.

FWIW I personally don't think we will sign any of the linked targets, thats not being negative thats being a realist in our current financial position.

Like I mentioned, a long window of supposed targets all followed by the "we were close to...", "thingymabob was going to sign but at the 11th hour..." types of lines we have all heard before.

Still Tubby McTubbins, the furloughed Pattiserie Chef* at the Hungry Horse has offered to play in goal so we're sorted...

...for Half Time cake at least.

Makes you wistful for missed targets of the past... remember the day we very nearly signed Marlon Pack, Bradley Wright-Phillips and somebody else? Remember being very excited about that and then nothing got confirmed...

Danny Green was the forgotten player from that trio.

A pretty big 'Town at the crossroads' evening.

As well as Green of the Danny variety, weren't we meant to sign Hollands on a perm too at that time?

I think we got closer to a Hollands pie than any of those players in the end.  Roll Eyes

I heard QPR have been watching him but not the other 3, and the last part is a certainty 100%. He is loving it at Newport.

There’s absolutely no point leaving him at Newport as he’s OOC in the summer.

Bring him back and flog him with a big sell on %. Maybe the buying club would loan him back to Newport.

No fucker wants to come here. We’re the footballing equivalent of North Korea.
