Definitely promising. Reminder that Stevens and Kovar came with glowing reviews and that hasn't got us very far. Surprised we have the money to sign players though

Promising but nothing more. A handful of senior apps. John, Day, Penney, Hiwula... Actual proven professional footballers.

It’s almost as if someone gives a shit all of a sudden!

When trying to sell a football club, the difference in value between a 2nd & 1st division business has that effect.

I know it's not the only metric that matters but Hiwula's goal-scoring record doesn't excite and at 5' 10'' he's doesn't look like the big lump we need either.

Is he an out and out striker?

Pacy wide forward I think. Didn't someone say we were in for a Middlesbrough striker?

Jewell obviously thinks that Deckchair can do a job for us?

He prefers to play as a striker, he looks nearer 6 foot to me than 5 10, knows where the goal is and doesnt get many "quality goals" they are mostly what you would expect from a striker, but he certainly has scored a few in the past at every club he has been at. 64 goals in 229 games isn't too bad really, a goal every 3.5 games average.

He can play wide but doesn't like to and hasn't done much in his career.

Scored only once against us for Walsall, the 2nd goal on this video.

He played for Yeovil back in 2014 against the Town and he at the time was one of the quickest strikers I had seen play against us even though he didn't score on that occasion he looked a handful, quick and strong.

Managed to get in double figures of goals in 3 seasons while at Fleetwood, Bradford and Coventry and got 9 in a season while at Walsall.

45 in 194 according to wiki. Less than 1 in 4.

Like I say, he might have other abilities and maybe the position he's played in has affected his return ratio, but 1 in 4 doesn't impress on paper - if he's on out and out striker. And I'm not necessarily saying it'd be a 'bad' signing. Just more of a run of the mill signing.

Or someone has found some cash down the back of the settee?
Hmmm, rumours cost nothing. Scarf over the head pics are a different matter

Which would still be 1 goal in every 3.57 games... My point stands.

I don't mean to be negative about the lad but unless he brings something other than goals then I won't be getting excited any time soon. That is not a good ratio for an out and out striker.

Still, I'd welcome him on board and get behind him. If he signs.
