Happy with that.

We needed a poacher, and a poacher is exactly what we got.

Same here and a pretty decent signing at our level

A forward with a proven goal record at this level is always a good signing. More experience for the squad as well. Another piece of the puzzle.

While the forum is famous for thread derailing, and that's part of the joy, there does come a point where the "signal to noise" ratio gets all out of kilter. I can see why that would piss people off especially on this thread which is one a lot of casual users are likely to pop in, check for updates, then move on. And they don't necessarily want or have the time to wade through loads of derailing to get to the bits actually discussing transfers. Not annoyed, just a polite observation that you might well be pissing some people off

Well put.

I already like pitman. I warm to scruffy looking players for some reason! Steve Jenkins and Gordon Greer spring to mind.

After several years of doom and gloom it's great to be optimistic again. Hats off to Power as he wouldn't come cheap

In comparison to others cheaper players he could have brought in

Bet he was

A proven goalscorer at this level with 1 or 2 playing years left in him.

He'd be a starter for most teams in L1, there must have been some competition.

I've never watched Pitman play. Anyone know what type of striker he is? About his stint at Ipswich he said they didn't suit his style of play as he was being used as a target man.

An upgrade on Doyle I reckon. Happy with that work Mr Wellens and Mr Power. Just in time for the start of the season too! I doubt he’ll be doing a lot of work outside the box to be honest!

Looked to be a poacher from here. Some decent ranged efforts on either foot as well.

So that’s the Doyle replacement.
