Yeah - I think he played literally two games then must have decided he couldn't combine playing and managing.
Of course - the point is totally valid. Both Macari and Ardiles were to all intents and purposes, non-playing managers. I just like to be a pedantic mother fucker occasionally. And I would say they were are best two as well. The way he is going though, I think Wellens is on the right trajectory as to be up there with them in time.

Good to get him some experience in league football (if he plays). Newport are one of the most physical teams around, and remember their pitch last season. Guess this is the chance for Twine to prove he can handle that. Given numbers though i'm surprised he's left at this point, potentially indicates more incoming imminent. |
