Im a little sceptical of how far down the road we went with this Gosport lad.

Probably not very far, as the A32 is a bit of a nightmare especially during rush hours....it being more or less the only road in and out of Gosport.  It's a funny old place....apparently the largest place in Britain (by population) with no railway station.

I worked there 40 odd years ago, and the traffic was crap then.....foot ferry to Pompey handy mind.

Mansfield must have run it a very close 2nd prior to the (re?)opening of the Robin Hood Line (in the 1990s?)

The honour of being the only FL club not served by a railway station was with Mansfield.....when it was solely served by the Mansfield and Alfreton Parkway.

Gosport used to have a single track branch up to Fareham, but lost it as long ago as 1953

I'm good, damn it.

Wikipedia: Mansfield Railway Station

Quote
'Before the station was re-opened in 1995, the town was the largest in the United Kingdom without one, all the more remarkable when it is considered that Mansfield pioneered the railway in the East Midlands. The then nearest railway station, Alfreton, was known as "Alfreton and Mansfield Parkway".'

I lived in Pontypridd for 3 years, where the locals claim that the platform at Pontypridd is the longest in Europe.

Back on topic. Jon swift is very highly rated and sounds promising as a replacement for Yaser and luongo and reeves who sounds like he is leaving.

But more importantly, I signed him for burton Albion in fm2013 and he was immense in my rise up the leagues. A good signing for sure.

Any insights as to why Rotherham cancelled his six-month loan? Hope we're not in Dean Parrett territory...
