Wes and luongo in their own ways are key to how we play. Wes's distribution is excellent as well as being a good shot stopper and great keeper overall really.

This window?
well, If foderingham doesn't go in January then he will probably go in the summer considering he is championship quality. And apparently a few championship teams are interested in luongo so dont see him staying for long.

Both want to play first team football. They know what the situation is here, but if they go anywhere else they have to start from scratch. Wes will probably see our his contract and see where we are then. He could have his choice of Championship clubs after him if we don't go up.

I can't see either leaving until the end of the season.

Correct.
I would imagine players who want to play at a higher level have been promised they can go in the summer if we don't make it.
I can see no benefit to the players going now - unless it is to a PL club

As much as I don't want our better players to leave this window, there is the inevitability of losing some on free transfers, or at a vastly reduced price. I'm sure Power will weigh it up as best he can, and he normally does a good job on these sorts of things, but it will be a bit of a kick in the bollocks to lose high quality players like Williams and Foderingham for shit all at the end of the season, especially if we don't manage to get promoted despite clinging on to them.

I doubt there's gonna be huge bids for players on short contracts. Unless it's an amazing move, then I can't see it this month.

I didn't see Louis Thompson to Norwich happening in the last window.
Anything can happen really but I feel reasonably comfortable that we won't be stitched up with Power's negotiating.

The selling and particularly the loaning back of Louis was a fantastic bit of business. I reckon that's the best you can hope for at a lower league club. Money talks, transfers happen, players go. Can't see being in a promotion position changing that much.

Even if we do go up our budget restrictions will mean wes/Williams could still earn more elsewhere. Very rare thing loyalty

I can seriously see us selling 1 player this window - but if we sell 1 player and it enables us to keep everyone else then I suppose we have to be happy.
I think the mian players we need to keep hold of is our strikers, if we have to sell one of the others then I have confidence Power will find an adequate replacement.
Unfortunetly there may be a few in the championship that are prepared to spend a big money to try and stave of relegation and with in form strikers they are going to be hot property.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Willo go, he is quality and available on a free at the end of the season so a cash deal might be an attractive proposition for Mr Power! I would be disappointed to see him go.
