Well, I've been surprised Smith has been used sparingly lately - could be protecting him ready for a sale

I guess with shipping Walden out and probably Storey we can bring 2 cheap forwards in without selling anyone.

This is true and even though we have Obika, Williams and Smith there is no other cover up front currently so if one of those 3 gets an injury then there is no striker on the bench as Barker is not fancied by Cooper and will almost certainly be off too this window.

I'm reliably told that suggestions Swindon Town are in discussions with Gosport Borough over striker Matt Paterson are 'nonsense' #stfc

The red tape hold up being that the window has not officially swung open yet. I think it actually opens tomorrow for some reason.

It's a weird one. The window opens on different days in different countries.

They are all, however, open for 31 days

...this is what Cotterill had to say...

How on earth did you manage to extrapolate from that that Smith is off? He could be talking about anybody.

The player that Shitty were after is said to be Doyle at Chesterfield.
