It's a weird one. The window opens on different days in different countries.

They are all, however, open for 31 days

It opens later this season here as there is as full programme of games on the 31st ( the day due to close if opened 1st )

I'd expect the window to close on 2nd Feb, as when the end of the month normally falls at the weekend, they carry it over to the Monday.

The red tape hold up being that the window has not officially swung open yet. I think it actually opens tomorrow for some reason.
RS were talking to Coops around an hour ago and he said this young lad isn't contracted, but is on a 7 day notice period, so until that 7 days are up, or his current club let him go before then, it wont be until next week til he officially signs.
Coops also said he believes we are close to signing a midfielder, but wouldn't reveal the name !

Us taking a punt on a 21 year old lad from non league who's got a lot of potential and we dont have to pay a transfer fee - seems like us.  Us taking a punt on a 25 year old who has scored a few goals in the conference and having to pay a transfer fee - doesnt seem much like our current modus operandi.

Im a little sceptical of how far down the road we went with this Gosport lad.

I was just being facetious JJ, on the basis that every player we have ever signed on loan had been 'highly rated' Wink I'm sure it's justified in his case, hopefully it is any way (if we sign him)

I think where we've signed young kids on loan from big Clubs in the past and it hasn't worked out, it's been because they've thought their ability alone would get them though and they thought they could stroll through games. Hopefully Mr Swift does not fall into that bracket and he will be more James Milner than Ben Hutchinson and he can justify his 'highly rated' tag.

According to Power he isn't even on towns radar

Quote
Meanwhile, Power totally rubbished suggestions that he has lodged an offer for Gosport Borough striker Matt Paterson.

He said: “I don’t even know who he is. I haven’t watched him, haven’t seen him, don’t know anything about him. Maybe we’re being used to get a few more quid, I don’t know.”

We do seem to have quite a fixed formula when it comes to player recruitment.

Long may it continue!

Cheesy we have indeed signed some utter dross who were said to be "highly rated" Lonergan, Nouble, Bostock(less so), Boateng, Abdulla, Montano, Grella to name but a few in the last 4 or 5 seasons or so.

I know nothing at all about this new lad though apart from him playing for England and Rotherham and being a jack of all trades midfielder who can fit in defensively or attacking. I see he got MotM for Rotherham in one game but thats it, direct replacement for Reeves it would seem.
