Yea I saw him on sky the other week, very impressed. Was a mainstay in an Inverness team that finished top 6 and Inverness fans are gutted he is leaving, that's good enough for me. Oh and he is a beast on fm too!
Fair enough. It was a genuine question, I wasn't having a pop. I like to think I know my football but prior to about Thursday I couldn't have named one single ICT player, let alone a midfielder, let alone a midfielder who was any good.

Paolo seems to be getting to grips with the British transfer market. Having been understandably 'hit or miss' in the summer, the signings made so far in the window have been bang on the money.

Some ICT opinions here...

http://caleythistleonline.com/topic/23884-cox-to-swindon/page__hl__swindon__fromsearch__1

I've got no problems with Scottish football but it's sad that a fan of a Scottish Premier League club has to have this mentality.
I think Terry Butcher's comments yesterday sum up the state of the SPL...

"I have been speaking to Lee’s agent, about another year’s contract but we wouldn’t be able to come anywhere near to matching Swindon’s wages," said Butcher.

"They are also looking at offering Lee a much longer contract. They are in the top six now and have big ambitions to go up this year.

“We could lose Lee but if that happens, it is great for him and it also sends out a signal to people who might want to come here.

“It will show players they can better themselves at Caley Thistle and progress their careers.

Haha! Never expected this but Inverness left back Kenny gillet replied to my tweet and said cox is coming to us and that we are lucky.
But this does show how poor financial situation is in the spl, alot of caley fans saying that 50 k is a massive fee for them Hmmm...

I know what you mean about the SPL but until very recently STFC paying 50k for a player would have been unthinkable.

Happy with this signing if it comes through. Smith's first season in the Football League was always going to be tough for him (physically) and while he has far exceeded my expectations, this Cox signing should allow him a rest (when needed) and add competition to places in midfield.

So they sponsor us throughout the FA Cup run and then try and link one of our outstanding performers to the clubs who we play against in the FA Cup!!

Colchester and Wigan to follow

Ithink JW said on the radio yesterday there would be no more players incoming until we offloaded some as we are nearing our wage cap.  Not sure if  signing Lee Cox will bring us to the cap.

He also talked about Kerrouche and that Medhi wanted to be a Swindon player but the club were looking to loan him out hoping that the experience will make him a better stronger player.

Reading between the lines i can't anymore ins before transfer deadline day if we can't offload a few

The People don't give a flying fuck about us, bar being a marketing opportunity, which they've done pretty well out of.

One bit of good news though, at least there is no chance of having to wear that crappy white 'FA Cup' shirt now

We could buy Cox and loan him back like we did Flint. Next season he'll be in the mix when the squad has been sorted out.

I hope there is a bit of money left in the pot for a forward

If we don't get Kerrouche out on loan and we don't get another forward then we really should use him, lazy or not his goal to game ratio can't be sniffed at

I would imagine that there will still be a bit of cap space left with the signing of Cox, especially as the Constable signing didn't come off. I would think PDC sees Cox playing an active role in the run in and I don't see him getting loaned back there. 7 games in 21 days dictates that there's going to be a fair bit of 'squad rotation' going on in the month of February I would have thought.

Inverness have already said they can't match the wages we offer, so if we did loan him back we would have to pay his wages which defeats the object
