The crawley user who mentioned jay williams to us, mentioned it as one of the next two to depart, the other being liam kelly to Franchise.

Peter oRourke is now reporting the liam kelly one. So perhaps the rumour for williams will be true as well.

Apparently Jay Williams was training with Crawley today so I wouldn’t expect an announcement anytime soon

Charlie was on no more than £1,500 per week.  He wanted £2k which was refused,  but after negotiations he accepted £1,500.
He’s training with Hungerford currently, has been asking for too much at Cheltenham.

I like Minturn but he needs a loan of playing week in week out, he doesn’t need another season of in and out. Keep Johnson around to provide cover for LCB as he’s left footed and Delaney apparently has injury concerns, then I’d want another experienced CB in the middle of the back 3.

I think he's got loads of potential and with even a modicum of competent support and experience beside him last season then I think he'd have pushed on and become a solid first teamer. With the new CBs which we have I expect him to learn a lot, but not get much chance of game time, so a loan is the answer.

Time will tell, but the point about needing experience to learn off should have been obvious to whoever drives recruitment last season.

Still, what's done is done. Looks to be changing .

Has there ever been a summer with so many formers players mentioned (rumoured) as this one.

The one i have just seen on twitter would seem to fit the recent recruitment policy, though their injury record looks ominous.

I liked Grant Hall. Many others didn't seem to.

I know Minturn is young and young players develop at different rates in different ways (and I hope that he does) but he is not at the level the likes of Flint or Morrison were after a similar number of appearances. Not sure I’d say he’s better than Thompson or Turnbull either (struggling to think of many young defenders who came through here!)

It’s been said many times, he desperately needs a sustained run of games at a National League side to continue his development imo

Irrelevant of Delaney situation i think we need 2 more first choice CB's. Assuming 2 per spot, we need 6. If we have 4 first choice and the 2 back ups are Minturn/Johnson/Hart. Even that makes me a little nervous honestly.

He can't really have only started 55 games since the start of  20-21 can he?

Yeah...Even his 5 years at QPR averaged just 24 game a season.

No harm having a quality (he's played exclusively at the championship post his loan with us) player who may only make 20 games, subjec to his cost, and subject to the depth of our squad.

I mentioned above we need 4 trustable 1st team players, if Hall is one then i think you need 5. Especially given some injury questions over Delaney as well. I would be nervous about Hart/Johnson playing too regularly if at all. Of course we may lean on the Hunt lad.
