Suspect Nathan Thonpson on his way back to SN1
Does this have legs or is it just something you'd like to see?

Why not go the whole hog and get both of the brothers back.

A back 3 with Thompson as sweeper, one of Clayton/FBT left side and a new right sided CB (Farquharson?) would be a decent base to build from.

Rumour in the local press is they have an option for another year which they will exercise so they can get a fee for him.
He left today option not taken

There is a very small pool of local lads who are good enough to play for STFC, and I'd always be happy to see one of them sign. We'd still need a bigger defender though, but he's a good option in a three at the back system which seems like it's what we're aiming for.

Thompson would be a v.good signing. Played 35 games for Peterborough last season. He's much better than League 2.

Penalties conceded, red cards, own goals he's got the lot!
And yet he’s played all of his career in the league above us.

Did I imagine it, or was there a rumour of him coming back in January?

Every one of those is an occupational hazard for defenders. I’d have him back in a heartbeat

A good player, experienced and with a tie to the club. What’s not to like?

Wouldn’t be against it but don’t think I’d lose any sleep over it - if it didn’t happen. Same for his brother ‘n all…

Would have thought Notts County would be interested in the Thompsons.

Club captain at Peterborough, played over 30 times in league 1 for a side that got to the play offs. The guy is experienced, and a leader, something we've been lacking for a while now. If we can also recruit a big old bugger then we'd have pretty good options at the back, Thompson, Clayton, FBT, Brewitt, Minturn and A N other. Definitely think Yhompson on a free would be a good bit of business.
