I’d like to see Minturn get a National League loan and play every week.

Quite excited by the prospect of a return for the Thompsons, even if it is heart over head.

If nothing else, with Jonny Williams gone we have an opening for someone in the team who likes falling over and pre-emptively grabbing the ball!

I think there are probably 2 schools of thought around Minturn.

As you alluded to, a season long loan in the Natinoal League, or spend the first part of the season with us, and play him in the pizza trophy games and then decide if he's going to be part of the squad/team, or if not then send him on loan in the National League. He definitely needs games under his belt but his cameo's last season suggest he is more than ready for the first team.

Nathan = more than good enough for league 2
Louis = more than good enough for league 2 if fit.

always think of NT as a right back though

After all the shit we’ve had I cannot believe that people wouldn’t want him back. That season under Cooper he was immense. A massive fuck up to play him at Wembley but with experience on his side I can see him being a really good fit in L2, as long as his injury record isn’t too bad.

You would have to be mental not to see having NT back would be a huge boost...and LT, too. It is real heart over head stuff, though. Youd think they will get offers from higher up the pyramid.

I don’t think so. NT is 33 a drop into L2 with his old club - a la Austin - seems a logical move.

If we got Nathan back then I think we still need another CB, because we are crying out for a big lump.

This

I'm absolutely not one of these fans who clamour for the return of ex players but these two (LT fitness permitting) would both be huge upgrades to our starting lineup.

Suspect NT will get another league 1 gig on a 1 year deal or something, 33 isn't old for a decent lower league defender.

Here’s what a few Walsall fans think about a couple of players linked with Flynn

‘ Kinsella has two great attributes, breaking up play and always giving 100% but he was very limited with moving the ball forward. Monthe is like a brick wall but his passing was awful to say the least.
Wilkinson technically is tremendously gifted but an expense we don’t need.
Labadie is an absolute liability whoever he plays for.’

Looks better than who they'll be replacing. That'll do for me

I think we will regret Labadie but the rest of them would be good.

Are the Thompson links genuine or just based off a posh fan on Twitter  saying he’s on his way back to us?

Both brothers more than good enough imo for this level, and will fight/play with pride.

Happily take Kinsella, good player at this level

Absolute no no to Labadie who’s been linked this morning though- he’s going on 33 and I don’t think he started a single game in the 5 appearances he had last season, walking yellow card and surely there’s better options out there?
