He will have to go some to be better than the last ex-Watford player called Adrian that we signed

Was that Adrian Bakkali? (Or something like that?)

Cynical view- if we announce on March 1st we've saved two months wages? Straight out of the Lee Power textbook.

Yet the club paid Tomlinson for nearly a month without him being able to play so its all swings and roundabouts rather than doom and gloom possibly?

Just hope that Mariappa hits the ground fitness wise as well as McEachran has.

The Tomlinson deal (I hope) was more longer term. If he can end this season fully fit and helping us into the play-offs then superb!

Hes also on loan for now, so Pboro are likely to be paying a chunk of his wages still.

Darragh Mac is a shrewd character so I doubt we are getting a cut price deal. I suspect they know he's done at Peterborough and know we are desperate to sign him. Maybe 50/50 wages split?

If they know he is out the door at the end of the season I cannot see why they would choose to pay a penny of his wags, I s'pose the only caveat would be what if anything we are paying for him, but if he is OOC I suspect we will be paying no fee and all wages.

I'm not totally sure of the rules but I think because of his age (he is under 24) we would have to pay Peterborough some kind of development fee if they offer him a new contract on at least the same terms as to what he is currently on.

I guess both clubs could have come up with a deal whereby Peterborough agree not to offer him a new contract and we pick up all of his wages from January to July.

Yes will go down to tribunal fee (unless we have an agreed fee with Pboro, didn’t the article where we signed them say “with proposed permanent move in the summer” so I would presume we have a fee agreed).

Arguably a signing that was needed on Jan 1st though.

We had that Spurs lad lined up and fucked it up though. Now we're scrambling to get bodies in, even more now with further injuries.

Well that is a good signing given the circumstances.

I think we'll be looking at a couple - no names but one is likely to be experienced and possibly the other a bit more longer term. #NOTITK
