"we spoke to Lindsey and he gave us a really compelling interview about why he should be given the opportunity to cut his teeth at this level, plus he brings a degree of continuity to what was a very successful team last season given where we started in August.  We want to repay the faith he has shown in us and we are confident that our improved recruitment structure will help support Lindsey in the coming season.  We ask all our fans to get behind Lindsey and the team as we look to push on in 2022 and 2023 towards our aim of promotion."

Something like that.
What did they say ? I may be totally wrong here but i always thought Sandro was bought in and his first task was look for a manager which he did and he openly says he was then told by staff and others at the club to speak with Lindsey so he did

Again ,please don't think i am excusing it and anyone other than Morris or Artell would be a disater and stupid but i swear that is how i thought they explained the summer saga

I don't believe them if it helps back up your point DMC 😁

But even if I'm right I hardly expect them to say "he was always 4th best for the job, and after the first three fell through...."
No i get it mate and why should you believe them? I just think lets wait and see

Why are 90% of football fans so fucking needy? Because that’s what it boils done too. I include myself in that at times.
Name me any other business where customers want an update every hour of what’s going on behind the scenes.

Football isn't like any type of regular consumerism and comparing it to such, is futile.

It used to be?

Fans would turn up to watch games, and that was it.
Players were announced when the club wanted to announce them. They didn’t have journos on Twitter saying players are in talks with other sides, or have to worry about TV news announcing a player before the club did.

Fans turned up to watch the game, and you’d find out about player signings when you picked up the programme or maybe teletext.

We’ve all become entitled, feeling like we should know everything that’s going on, when it really didn’t used to be like that.

Social media has exacerbated things but make no mistake, its always been there. People used to just hang on the adver instead of twitter ITKers. The adver actually knew stuff back then.

I once used teletext to book flights, well, to show me the deal.  It was on a rotating page, so you had to sit an wait for it to come around again to scribble down the number to call and details.

It's great to reminisce even though a lot of younger posters won't have a clue what we're talking about😀
