It didn't win tbf

It didn't, but it wasn't a kick in the arse off of it.

Payne to Sheff Wed with Charlton also interested. [Ryan Walker]
That’s us out of contention then.

Payne was never staying given the wage details we knew about. Zero surprise on this one.

Disappointing but out of all the players we’d offered deals to, he was always going to be the most difficult one to secure. Far too good for League 2 and always likely to have suitors who could offer more than us.

Sandro has his work cut out this summer that’s for sure!

From speaking with a mate who worked personally with Scott at FGR, Scott's preferred formation is a 4231 with a double pivot. While losing Reed who only blossoms in a single pivot would be such a huge loss, it would free Scott to move to his preferred formation. I'd obviously and I'm sure Scott too would love Reed to stay around, but just a dose of some copium

10 games from the first 20 including 3 in the Europa League.
He played 588 minutes in total which isn’t a lot especially for a team bottom of the league and combined with seeing him myself for Walsall I wouldn’t see him as ready to be a regular starter for us.

Weird one Payne, far too good for league 2 i'd be desperate for him to stay but never really does it in league 1

Good news for #stfc fans. The club are in talks to bring in a highly-talented new left-back and also a striker from two Premier League clubs. One will be a permanent deal, other set to be a loan move. #efl

No offence but all that is completely irrelevant. Lindsey has never been the main man so has no track record of embedding a system. He might like that but he’s never had a team play it and has no idea if it would work. Ultimately he will need to play the system that suits the players that are at the club when the season starts and I’m sure he will be under instructions from the higher ups how the team should be playing.

Think that can easily be answered by looking at the fact that for some JoJo’s ability has drastically diminished in the last 24 hours

Amazing how quickly a player’s ability can change for the better or worse when he is suddenly no longer your own player

This and judging by the latest reviews of the players we've lost, only one is a proper L1 player alledgedly so if we'd been promoted we'd have had a whole new squad.

Makes me laugh the way Walker has written that. A highly talented new left back. And also a striker, who clearly isn't highly talented! soapy tit wank yet he is the one on loan.

He only started 6 games as he was basically back up left back, my mate says he definately has something about him for such a young age. It went wrong at Walsall when he got an injury.

He is the sort of player we are looking at, one for the future with a good background at a big club, we will not be signing any player who is at the top of his game, we dont have the budget or the level of league to expect that.

He is exactly the type and age of player that the new system is targetting and we have to learn to live with that, I doubt we will sign any player older than 24 or who has previously "set the world on fire" at any level of football, other than possibly youth level.

It is what it is, I would be shocked if we sign a player with more than 50 first team starts previously.

Or why change a winning formula?

Which ultimately didn't work in L2, can't see how that would help in L1.

We were tipped by many to go down and finished 6th, I'd say it worked pretty well.

Hopefully those who want to go leave ASAP.  We need to crack on with this season and OUR players.
