On the Loathed Strangers podcast they said that Swindon are notoriously late in the game with transfers as that's when you get your best value for money for both permanent signings and loanees. |

What they said was that the players that have been expecting to be signed up by a league 1 side and haven't secured any interest then have to lower their expectations and look into league 2. That's when we become a more exciting prospect (probably second only to Bradford in that respect) |

It’ll work both ways won’t it.
There will be good players having to lower their expectations…but…there will also be a smaller pool of players to pick from and thus the club might have to lower their expectations

If you are a lower league footballer and you are given a list of the 24 clubs in the division, you can't say that Swindon Town are surely not in the top 3 of clubs that the vast majority would pick? (obviously ignoring location and wages etc - fully aware these are important factors for players of course) Exciting might not be the right word but you catch my drift. Just because you are an impatient man Aud doesn't mean we can't sign good players late on, look at last season for instance. |
