On the signing of the new keeper I have seen comments such as...

Hes not very good
Bloody useless he wont challenge for the 1st team
and several others.
He doesn't need to challenge Ward and Wollacott, hes in on a 6 month deal, hes backup in case Ward gets injured or if Wollacott gets injured on his return, hes not signed for the 1st team just to be an "in case of emergency break glass" sort of signing.
Hes been at some big clubs so hopefully hes picked up something of use along the way, hes young, hes cheap and hes signed on a free, sounds ideal.

Exactly, Ward would be our only available first team keeper whilst Woolacott is on international duty. Good, more than capable keeper, but we need Ide as a back up. Ideally can be sent back after six months if surplus to requirements.
