Really? I'm sure there's not been too many who have risked it since the days of 3 subs.
He did it as recently as the 2006/7 season (in the Premier League when you could name 5 subs), details here in the Phil Jagielka section.... http://www.talkfootball.co.uk/guides/history_of_sheffield_united_fc.html#f

Am I imagining this, or did one of our previous managers do similar with Peacock? As in have no keeper on the bench because Peacock was considered adequate cover?

Wise didn't play a keeper on the bench, but I'm pretty sure that was just because he preferred not too, rather than because Peacock was a good keeper.

I'd heard that said, but if I remember correctly (there is every chance I don't, I'm often wrong) when Brezovan was injured (the serious one, Grimsby maybe?) and we had no keeper on the bench, I thought Peacock was playing and assumed he would go in goal, but Williams ended up with the gloves on. That all could be completely innacurate.

It was Sturrock who used Peacock as the sub keeper, he did so at Wednesday. Adie Williams was another one who could play inbetween the stick and did so for us, when Brez was injured.
Wise didnt name one maybe for the same reasons. He never said why but Sturrock had definitely mentioned it at some point.

I don't think he's better or more experienced than what we've already got.
He may not have that much league experience, but he's got years on Morrison and LJF. He's also a leader and doesn't seem afraid to make a mistake - that confidence is crucial. That said, this is all based on Exeter fans' views and the televised game vs us. Would be £150k (at a guess...) well spent I reckon.

Fair dos. I think Lescinel is going to step up this season.

his scoring record is not fantastic at all, do we need another target man to hold up the ball? Maybe he is back up if we dont sign dossi

He has scored a fair number in the past - mainly at Barnet and in his first season at Lids. Perhaps he needs to feel loved or as if he is the number one striker. Of late he seems to have been more noteworthy for the amount of times he's got himself sent off - including in the 'title decider' against Norwich.
I wasn't that impressed when I saw him play for Luton and he was the next biggish thing but after that I don't really remember seeing him play.
