Nicky Ajose is genuinely possible, know for a fact we've put an offer in that he's considering.

That'd be one hell of a signing.

So have Yeovil.

I would imagine his name has been circulated to all clubs, due to his contract clause

Would be a statement of intent if that happened

Ajose would be fantastic but you would think he would have loads of offers in league 1. Turnbull however, no thanks.

The problem is he will be off like a shot if another club comes calling (again) and repeat the same process, he believes he is better than L1/2 standard (and definitely and will do what he can to get to the champs).

I am in 2 minds about him, he scores goals granted but he is lazy, not a team player and goes missing a lot when he doesn't get the service. Imo we need a player who will put in the effort to play as a team and score goals at the same time.

I wouldn't be upset if he came back but I think we can do better

TB was great alongside Ricketts and Stephens so I would give him another chance as we have experienced pro's he can play with to mentor him. He has his faults but he is also still young so has a lot to learn, if we get him on a free or relatively cheap then I would be happy to see him back.

Better than Ajose? I'd like to see that in L2. We have enough hod carriers in the team - a proven Ajose would tear up L2.

We would struggle to get someone who scores as many as him granted but we can get someone who does more for the team which would (hopefully) result in more goals. Austin and Paynter were a great pairing because they worked for each other and scored 20+ each I believe (tell me if I am wrong) which basically got them both moves to the champs.

If Ajose put more effort in for the team (chasing back, less greedy) then I would be over the moon of his arrival but when he doesn't get the service, the rest of the team are carrying him. He is a great player but just needs to be more of a team player.

he's not a team contributor, that much was true.

other than the shit loads he scores of given the right service, obviously.

Hence why I wouldn't be upset if he came back, it just depends on us playing to his strengths so he can score those goals, if we don't then we have a repeat of last season of no service and no goals. He would be a high earner so we will need to get the most from him to make it worthwhile.

Norris and Ajose would be a good pairing in this league imho, could emulate Austin and Paynter (won't score 50 goals. maybe 30-40 between them).

History tells us that we don't get out of Div 4 in an upward direction, by having an out and out goalscorer in the side.

Rather a number of players throughout the squad who can score key goals.

Sorry but thats a crazy statement.

I don't think we could get better than Ajose in this league, Ajose is a proven goalscorer in L1 he would set this league on fire if he had a decent big man alonside of him.

Good Goal poachers are not easy to come by and very few contribute much to the game outside of the box, look at Gerd Muller, Paolo Rossi, Michael Owen, Ian Rush, Gary Lineker, Charlie Austin et al....they hardly did anything outside of the box but any side that has a poacher capable of 20+ a season will be there or there abouts at the end of the season, Ajose is that sort of player.
