With Mark Robins back there I expect Thomas to return to Coventry before the season begins.

Totally agree. Looks like a lost boy in a supermarket.

Half the time I was expecting the tannoy to announce that his mum was waiting for him in reception.

I suspect any of our left overs from last season are going to have to step up a level in terms of effort if they're to have a future here under Flitcroft. If they can all well and good, if they can't then best to move on asap.

He's shocking. The fact he's still got two years left is even more shocking.

Don't write him off yet. Williams managed to make some good players look bad, Flitcroft may be able to get the best out of him.

Fair point, but based on what's been seen so far....

No signing friday? Flitcroft out!

Presumably we are almost there with numbers. Just loanees to go perhaps?

I think we will get one more experienced striker and an experienced left back and the rest made up with loanees.

I reckon we're well short of numbers yet... let's do a head count of who's in the building  Smiley

Vigs/Henry

Purkiss, Lancashire, Robertson, Conroy.

Dunne, Linganzi, Thomas, Goddard, Iandolo, Brophy.

Norris, Mullin.

Then some kids, like Starkey and Jordan Young + the newly elevated youths.

So I reckon at least another 6 if not 8 needed to form a decent squad.

I think another 6 inc loans will be about right.

Couple of left backs, couple of strikers, and a couple of wide men, would seem the bare minimum.

We're kind of assuming that the leftovers from last season are going to be used... but somehow, you can't really see the likes of Iandolo/Goddard/Thomas/Brophy being of much use to Flitcroft.

If we take up the maximum number of loanees, 5, I reckon on 2/3 more permanents.

According to Power - pre Flitcroft admittedly - he reckons Iandolo is our next big thing

We can have up to 8 loanees but only 5 in the matchday squad, I can't see their parent clubs allowing us to have 3 players that won't be playing a part in pretty much every game TBH.

I think Goddard, Iandolo and Norris might be quite good this season.
