I've been learning to cook now I know I'm off to uni.
Did garlic-roasted prawns in a provincale sauce on a bed of linguine last night, fucking lovely (albeit probably too expensive and time-consuming to do regularly as a student). garlic roasted prawns on a bed of linguine i'd scratch that off the list for student cooking right now. i'v managed to get my weekly shop (excluding beer) down to about £7.50 beans, soup, porridge, chicken, veg, eggs, bread. tis all you need. start of my first year i probably did £20-25 a week on shopping but then realised it really wasn't worth it. its all about chicken and veg every night :|

I got a bit fed up of eating specialties such as super noodles on toast and taught myself to cook in my final year. I think it helped that we didn't own a microwave that year either. Family sized pies make for a good meal. You can pretty much have one of them and that's your food done for the day. Just don't stick one in the oven and then fall asleep when you're drunk.

Since the turn of the year ive eat relatively healthy and feel much better for it i'v never eaten more healthy than i do at uni. dont buy anything in the frozen section (except peas and sweetcorn) and can honestly say i havent had a ready meal once since iv been here. my uncle assures me that i could knock a few quid off the £7.50 with a load of lentils - that i could make into dahl- but i hate the wee bastards.

Since the turn of the year ive eat relatively healthy and feel much better for it your ponce! frozen veg, chicken etc is the same as fresh. In fact in a recent study they found that frozen veg is actully in some cases better for you as it is grown in season. frozen mirocwave meals however are bad! sometime mr cain your make me laugh!
