my friend is there - he did a documentary about it

I didnt really know much about it so got my dad to tell me all about it at the weekend. My dad says he can remember clearly when he found out Duncan Edwards died as he was his boyhood hero.

Got to say it's refreshing to see 1-11 on the Man U retro kits against City today.

i agree partly like when they say how brave the players were to survive the crash, people survive and die in plane crashes all the time

Was great to see both sets of fans be respectful. If you want to see the prematch ceremony here is the link

  at the last bit.

I sort of agree with you though. I don't really have any emotions about the Munich disaster. In fact I thought the thread would be about some war related ceremony  Oops

What were the explosions about? Some people are saying it was planned, one for each death, but if it was 5Live certainly didn't know about it, they were having a right tizz over it.

It was a good ceremony. I'm not a Man U fan by any means. Not even close. I do love the history and tradition of the game though and the Munich air crash is an integral part of that and the 50th anniversary needed to be properly commemorated.

I personally am very glad that no pissed up/charlied up City fans started singing "Who's that dying on the runway" or something of that nature during the minute's silence. That would have been toe curlingly embarassing.

Those gun shots/explosions were very random though. I do wonder if they were anything to do with it at all

clearly someone outside trying to ruin the minutes silence. Atleast the people inside respected it.
