Not saying I dont,I am however saying its not a matter of national importance.
Its the same as when famous people/footballers die and we have a thread on here where everyones giving it " RIP" etc.Its bollocks no one really cares.

To be honest I think the whole Diana thing was the start of my "grief fatigue"I just couldnt understand why people were wallowing in self pity and grieving for her and still cant.It drives me insane.

People were taking the piss out of Beadle in that very same thread - I'm sure it was Chubbs that posted the picture of the 'Beadle controller'.
It's not liek people have gone onto a message board dedicated to the tribute of those players and said "I don't give a shit." It's more like a "oh, I see this has spilled onto our very own Swindon Town forum. Fair enough, but I don't actually have any emotions about that."

hold on a minute people i wasnt having a go at anyone for grieving. if you want to greive over something that happened before you were born then go for it, all im saying is its not for me. it was a tragic accident, why are they "better" than the kid who got hit by a car in brighton today? because he didnt play for england?

I'll just say one thing on this - I grew up in the 60's and the Munich crash was still very big news in football annuals and comics - just about the only thing we had to keep in touch with footy news in those days. Just as I was starting to realise football was a passion, for me and not like any other sport, Man U produced the team with Best, Charlton, Kidd and Law etc. I never felt I wanted to support Man U - in those fucking days you supported the nearest club to where you lived - but I still enjoyed the way they played and the fact that they won the European Cup. When they did, all the stories of Munich were brought back as Busby had defied the odds and finally achieved what he should have done in 1958. This will always have a profound effect on me cos like JFK getting shot, Winston Churchills funeral and the Ibrox disaster, it's part of my early history. I can see how people younger than me may well question WTF it's all about but to me it still looms large. Fair do's for the City fans realising they had one of their own to mourn and not shitting on the minute silence. PS: I totally agree with the Diana stuff - it was the most mawkish, sentimental bollox I have ever seen.

Wasn't born and really couldn't care less. Find it all very annoying the way it is wall to wall media coverage. If the manc's wanna do it fine but don't force it on everyone else.
May I also remind people that this is a fourm which means a palce to exchange views so telling people to keep there views to themself is a bit fucking darft.
going back to the point about people mums dying my mum died a few years ago my mates rallied round and help me thourgh although they weren't greving I knew they were worried about me which was nice. on the other hand were they sad that a women they had never really knew and met a handful of times died I doubt it and rightly so.
