Record number of strikers?

Crikey!  Cox, Paynter, Corr, Sturrock, Ashikodi. Strikers!
Arguably, all of these capable of doing some sort of job at least, in this Division. And all signed, not loaned.
Is this a record? Please comment.

I would offer 66/67 as being a vintage season for strikers....we could pick from Dennis (Bullets ) Brown, Keith East, Ken Skeen, Jimmy Lawton and the great Pat Terry.

  Between them this lot scored 607 career league goals.....Skeen was a Trowbridge boy who had his finest moment scoring v West Ham in our 3-1 win at the CG, a match whose highlights were shown on Sportsnight with Coleman.  However he was the least productive of the quintet and was shipped out to the Scum, where he netted a modest  28 goals in 214 games.

 That season we scored 81 goals in the league....have we scored more since Tails?

Yes Reg, vintage. But that season Skeen was a winger, and scored only once. The four strikers Terry, Lawton, East, and Bullets got 29 between them, but Rogers got 32. I knew Keith East slightly, through some mates. He was a bit of a lad, I believe.

 Nah....Skeen was definitely a striker...he didn't score a league goal, that season.  As regards winger we could call on Don, Eric Weaver, Bruce Walker or Bobby Jones.

 That season was about Colin Gordon, Brian (The badger) Wade, then later Bambi, who played wide, but could play up top.  Charlie Henry was leading scorer playing in midfield.

We should play the classic 2-3-5 formation like they used to do until some point in the (I'm guessing) early60's.

How about (using the proper numbering system)

It would be worth a goal start playing that formation, just for the shock value! What I would pay a lot of money to see is a team playing a 1-2-7 formation which is what I seem to remember reading somewhere, is the formation The Wanderers played against The Royal Engineers in the first FA Cup Final in 1872.

 There's a place in Cheshire called Cholmondeley (prononced Chumley) its near Malpas.

  I've always assumed its how Mr CW spelt his name.

 Not necessarily.....don't suppose many know of Cholmondeley (Chumley), its got a castle, and I used to do a fair bit of walking rouind there...Peckforton Hills.
