I'm getting worried that the club solicitors are not going to sign what is required as "they haven't been asked"  and then it will break down as Fitton & Co will not do the deal without them signing off that they are owed no more money and we will find that HMRC will have issued a WUP last week.

Just how many deal do you think this half-witted board will be able to secure on New Years Day, when everybody is playing?!

Most deals don't get done until the end of the window, so they'd have the best part of 6 weeks to hold on, in which time the club would SURELY have tipped over the edge.

Oh, and which players do you think we will be selling for these high amounts of money? Other than Tozer and possibly Brezovan, I can't think of any.

but it just isn't possible to flog players and pocket the cash is it ?! not that i'd put it past them to have a go, but if you bought a game of monopoly from Smiths and then found the battleship and the shoe were gone, they couldn't just say "sorry we sold those bits to someone else whilst we were scanning your credit card" - could they ?!

Silence from the board (Holt) is to be expected, silence from Wray is worrying!

Damn me and my optimism!

Indeed. The fact we haven't heard anything frrom Wray or Fitton is very worrying. The last time they went quiet they pulled out all together.

WRAY ANNOYED BY DELAYS

Local businessman Jeremy Wray has revealed his frustration at further delays to his attempts to complete a takeover of Swindon.

A deal for the cash-strapped League Two club, who are reported to be £5million in debt, was expected to take place on Tuesday, but an announcement is still on hold because the Robins' lawyers are yet to provide legal approval.

Having already seen an initial deal breakdown earlier in the month, Wray, who along with business partner Andrew Fitton is fronting the consortium, admits the saga is reaching farcical proportions.

He told the Swindon Advertiser: "It is very frustrating. My lawyer has just been waiting for the email from the seller's legal people saying the conditional deal was okay. Both parties have already agreed it.

"We are still convinced it will get done but I know it is starting to sound stupid. The time frame we have been giving though have not been deadlines they have just been realistic targets for when we thought it would be done.

"We have set out a conditional deal because there are one or two conditions that still need to be thrashed out. But we just want to get in there because there are day-to-day footballing issues to be addressed."

I don't like the sound of that bit at the end.
