Another dull, uninspiring long ball manager really doesn't appeal to me at all.

Let's take a slight risk and appoint Luc Nijholt. At the very least, he'll probably bring in his own Dutch coaching team. Probably most of this lot:

The assistant manager looks a right laugh.

We're really in the shitter with this one.   Couldn't have happened at a worse time, what is needed is a period of stability on the pitch, so that events off the pitch can be sorted.

We just seem to have the worst of both coinciding...to make matters worse, we've got FGR on Saturday......the stars dictate we lose to a non league side once a decade, it will hardly come as a surprise if its Saturday.

I don't think an appointment can be made until ownership is sorted.  If as some suspect its plan B.....then expect  :king:

We need tpo go out and get a manager called Martin Ling.  He loves this club and wouldnt ever want to leave.  Bring back someone who was at the club in the 90s when we had some lovely football.  Bring in people like Moncur and Hazard and rebuild this battered club.

I wouldn't want that cunt Allen anywhere near this club, he's done nothing at any club, he failed with brentford and failed miserably with Franchise.

Also i wouldn't want rosenior he is totally crap and no way would i want that ex scummer denis smith either.

Out of those names i'd go for either Cotterill, Nijholt or Harvey, Cotterill being my preferred choice, Ling would be a good appointment as well.

One name people don't mention much and is a good manager is Mike Newell.

It may just be coincidence, but the thought does occur that Sturrock is a rat deserting a sinking ship ie he knows the takeover has gone tits up.

Personalliy I'd regard Sturrock going and Fitton coming as a good week. I can't start to imagine the reaction to Newbury still being around.

I think I'd give Cotterill a try. His style isn't a passing Brazil like game, but it seems reasonably effective results wise. Also think he wouldn't take any shit from the players.  Whether fans would stomach his direct game approach I don't know, but Luggy is hardly getting us playing total football either.

Failing that it is a close one between Nijholt and having Glenda back. I guess I like the idea of Nijholt (for sure) but I don't know enough about his management style to comment.

If we get someone that from the start everyone else hates but I quite like then they might stick around a couple of years. Its the recipe for success.

I am thinking exactly the same regarding the takeover, maybe it's collapsed or on the brink or doing so? The takeover is much more important than Sturrock as long as it goes through i will be happy, if it doesn't go through the current board won't be here anyway as STFC will cease to exsist.

I hope you are wrong, because I don't think I could stomach going much more if that happens. Which as it turns out may not be optional anyway if our good friends at HMRC don't get paid.

If this takeover fails its curtains- fact. No further patience will be shown by the creditors of the CVA or the football league- and why should it.

This week is all or nothing for the future of STFC, if the takeover goes through the board will be gone, debts will be cleared and the future looks good.

On the other hand if it collapses then we get a points deduction, HMRC and other creditors will finally have enough and wind us up and STFC will be no more, it's deal or no deal.

for the love of god, stop repeating yourself. i'm getting sick of reading the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

when it comes to the crunch, the stumbling block doesn't carry sufficient weight to stop anything so if fitton proceeds then there's hope.

oh and there's no chance of ling coming to swindon. nijholt or cotterill for me.
