Theres a statement on the OS effectivly saying the Wills are financially supporting the club whilst the protracted takeover talks contiune This will be because it's become clear there are now more leaks than on my collander at home. Something has to be put out to suggest all the grumblings will we get to hear are just admin issues that Wills will sort in time.

I am ashamed to be associated with this lot
Totally and utterly ashamed !
During the 4-4-2 interview I laughed off the "Swindle" gags and threw back some piss takes of my own
How right those other three fans were, and how correct is the nickname that they have given us.
Disillusioned

Theres a statement on the OS effectivly saying the Wills are financially supporting the club whilst the protracted takeover talks contiune It doesn't actually state that though Swindon Town FC Club Update Posted on: Thu 04 Oct 2007 As the protracted negotiations with Best Holdings with regards to the takeover of the club continue, the STFC Board of Directors has, in the meantime, sought from The Club's major shareholder additional funds to fulfil the immediate obligations and financial liabilities of the Company. "Sought" is a fucking long way from "Secured"

I presume the FA have not caught wind of it as that sort of shenanigans usually means we have a fairly prompt transfer embargo slapped on the club.
Piss poor really and it begs the question did the Portuguese mob know about this or is it the first of many to blow out from under the carpet.

How come I get the feeling EVERYTHING is going to go tits up in the next 2 weeks. I can see - Best Holdings pulling out - Tranfer embargo - Football League meeting to discuss a points deduction - Expulsion from the league. - Winding up order from HMRC - Supermarine become our main club and ST holders get fuck all money back along with creditors.

This is now beyond a joke. I am at a loss to understand why HMRC and Swindon Council are not getting involved. External pressure needs to be applied, or these cowboys are going to string us along indefinitely. Someone needs to go in there and bang their heads together.
This charade is worse than pathetic.

Good point. They normally word these statements carefully and I have no doubt it accurately reflects the situation.

I took it to mean hiring players as in "you're hired" or "you're fired", just like The Apprentice and other Americanised sayings.
However, not paying over the money is unbelievable.

I am at a loss to understand why HMRC and Swindon Council are not getting involved. . Probnably because they feel that they would rather hold out for some money instead of non if they fold. the ONLY reason I can think of.

I have been reading between the lines on their statements for longer than I care to think and that little gem just jumped out at me.

I suspect that this lot are paying as little as possible and that is why 'nam have not been paid, there is probably other clubs that have not been paid, and if we are due to make payments for anything I suspect they won't be paid.
I would imagine the money they have sought from the Wills family will be used to pay the players wages for last month that has still not been paid, they are basically admitting they cannot afford to keep the FC going any longer by asking for external funding, I susect that Wills would want the "loan" back from the Portugeezers if the takeover goes through also which is probably going to be another sticking point in the ongoing saga
