Sturrock's a better manager than MacLaren though, so it probably levels itself out.

That's why we get results and England don't.

this was England v Germany, now that means something to me, dosen't that mean anything to you.

Someone should have told that to the players who, for the most part, played like cunts tonight. Terrible game, terrible performance by England aside from the first 15 minutes.

England are dreadful to watch now. End of.

errrr dell, its not 1942 anymore. As far as im concerned  england-germany is no more of a derby than england-latvia. The germans ain't done nothing to us for a while now, don't see nothing to get too angry about tbh.

Try telling that to old twits of my age and the generation before us.
Enough said I think, could go on about this all night but as usual I would only bore everyone to death so time to sign off.

WTF england Germany???  Doesn't mean much??  My God Dave what's up with you?  Next you'll be saying you don't care about playing Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France.

That's the problem, countries like Scotland, Germany, France all do their utmost to put one over on england (which is why Scotland have a pretty decent record against england) and you have a "to be honest we don;t really consider you rivals..."

I'm glad I've been brought up to support Scotland, fair enough we may never win a championship or even get close, but those wins against particular countries feel so good when they do happen.

Okay it's a bit disapoointing to lose to Germany but I think people are going way too far in both directions here.

I'd say Stropood has a bit of a rose-tinted view of the game, but you have to agree that Richards, Terry, Lampard, Cole and Wright-Philips all had decent games. I'd say Ferdinand, Beckham and Smith did their jobs too.

As for people going crazy about the game being boring, had it not been for one error from Robinson the chances are it would have been a completely different game. England were massively on top and looking good value for their lead .

On the whole, yes it was frustrating to see us start so well and then fall apart for no reason. However I think that is partly due to the stupid pressure put on playersw by the media, and by the fans who turn up just to complain about the mistakes. Save the complaints until tyhe qualifiers, they are what really count. If we don't get 6 points from the next two games, even with our depleted squad it will THEN be time to ask the serious questions.

I think if you read others comments Stroood you will find your opinion is in the minority.
Big man been to the last two tournaments, who are you trying to impress, is that meant to impress me, must I bow to your football knowledge of England football teams, I think not, get stuffed.
The game tonight had nothing to do with the performances of Lampard, Wright-Phillips or any other Chelsea player you want to mention, this was England v Germany, now that means something to me, dosen't that mean anything to you.
There is no such thing as a friendly against us, and thats why 6,000 German fans came tonight to follow their team, it's more than just a game of football when we play each other, that is the point I'm trying to get through your thick head.

shit it didnt impress you? damn must try harder.
of course it being germany means something to me, but just because we didnt win (dodgy keeper + wonder goal) doesnt mean we didnt perform.
what the fuck do you expect? to quote you "go and have a wank and let out some of that anger" you absolute melt.

Anger now gone, cool, calm and relaxed; cant wank any more, can still get a stiff on, just cant get the grip these days for the serious action.

And that is what is making it so boring.  From what I remember (the late) 1980's England weren't that good to watch, but least there was a decent atmosphere to accompany the match.  Nowadays the crowd hardly get into the game unless their team are flying.

I'm sure a load of fans go to matches just to wait until they can boo to their hearts content.

because its full of corporate prawn sandwich munchers and premiership arm chair fans.

The fact it takes them until injury time to take their seats shows the problem.  To be fair to the rest, watching England is a pretty soul sapping past time these days.  No pace to the games, no tackles anymore (how many juicy tackles do we see now?), a central midfield that at times as made cardboard seem inspiring and goalkeepers who seem to turn into school kids when they get the chance to play for England.

Tonights game started well before gradually slipping into the same pattern as every other one for go knows how long.  The positive that could be taken is that we still created chances tonight, something that can't always be said.  Shame we can't clone Richards.

Nice and greasy,
Slips in easy,
It's the ghillie's pride and joy,
When you're talking of the goals,
With some candles in your holes,
Lips and hair are on fire!

chelsea are better than england, and the champion's league is the pinnacle of football these days. i honestly think the only reason the world cup is still so highly revered is because it only happens once every 4 years.

What gets me the most is the interviews with people like Beckham and John Terry after the game.  They were both happy with the first 20 minutes then said "we just sat back" like it was something outside of their control.  Why the fuck did you sit back?Huh?? weren't you on the pitch and able to do something about it FFS. OK so the goalie gifting them a goal gets players pissed off but that's when you get back down the other end and shove the pressure on, not slow the game down.  Second half substitutions baffled me - why didn't Wright-Phillips replace Beckham? Why put Dyer on up front when Defoe's on the bench, particularly when he goes and misses 2 sitters.

Robinson is getting beyond a joke in the England goal now. I was actually impressed with SWP on the left.
