No, it's just means you haven't come out the closet yet.

This month I shall be doing:

The Charlatans
Martha Reeves & The Vandellas

Being forced to see a ‘show’ as well so I’ve picked Jersey Boys, which has a bit of classic Fours Seasons and is described as having a Goodfellas element.  Certainly better than some bloody poof band cum tribute or a Disney sing along.

I've also heard that, not necessarily a Carling but certainly a 3K gig venue for 2 years before it is torn down to build cafes / restaurants etc.

Just heard that Dave who owns 12 Bar and The Vic has bought it.

That's a good thing in my eyes. None of that Carling commerical crap here thank you very much. People are so desperate for a decent venue in Swindon yet no one ever turns up to any gigs. Glad Dave had bought the Mecca place. Could be a decent venue in time.

Are you sure that wasn't Snoopy Looker.....good times by Chic would have been worth the effort though.

We would turn up to gigs if decent bands played in a decent venue.

Just because hordes of locals don't turn up to see some Swindon band play doesn't mean they wouldn't turn up for an established band.

I knew he put a bid in, didn't know he'd got it though. That's great news, just what Swindon needs! The Swindon Shuffle was good this weekend, local bands seem to be getting better and better!

I can see two sides to it. It will get the bigger bands in and it will get the people there. But places like that don't have big bands in every week.

That said I know Dave has been working hard to get some more well known acts into Swindon and has done a good job so far. A venue of this size will only help so I'm glad if it all goes ahead ok.

The Shuffle went down a storm this year!
The furnace was busier than i have seen it in a long time, i had a great night. The Rolly was also packed for their show.
I was unable to make the beehive yesterday but am told it was rammed, even after your drummer decided to show his naked flesh!
And the vic was sold out!
thus all proving to me there is a thriving music scene in swindon, but people all like different things.
