Does anyone know when Mark Devlin is due to return to his stfc duties? I know he was reported to be back in hospital a while ago, but surely he will be ready to return soon. I hope so anyway as I have had it completely with his salad dodging temporary 'plastic' replacement Martyn Smarmes, specially after last nights political performance at the forum where he did not answer questions like a true tory politico. I actually tried to make eye contact with him a couple of times last night but I didn't register on his radar unfortunately. A very odd man indeed with the personality of an un-bugged council wheelie bin. Sturrock was very impressive on the other hand and seems a genuine man wanting to do good for the club and himself.

Health permitting, I suspect devlin still has to run the daunting gauntlet of Smarmes holt and Gray about the alleged 750k overspend during the summer, but once he has done that it would be nice to think that Sturrock has a decent CeO to interact with and the fans can relate to.

What about Mike Sullivan? Shouldn't he be about ready to return to the marketing fold by now?

IIRC, after the AGM Holt was pretty much telling people he would be coming back on the board now that nasty man Dennis Wise had gone. Whereas I have more chance of growing a womb than Mark Devlin has of resuming employment under the current regime. Says it all really - take your pick.

I cant believe anyone who went to the fans forum can be so uninformed about the current state of STFC. Mark Devlin was the on other side of the infamous Bill Power/Dunwoody split.

As for Smarmes. it wouldnt suprise me one bit if the bloke has the charisma of a brick. Getting used to useless yes men from Newbury now.

I don't recall Devlin and the Power/Dunwoody split being discussed at the forum.

So what if he was involved with Power anyway. He is presumably on sick leave and is still an employee of the club. You can't go around sacking people for no good or sound reason for fucks sake. All the inuendo from Smarmes and Holt about him being responsible for the overspend does not really matter a jot. The guy either is or isn't comming back. Does anyone know anything more about this? Maybe Devlin knows he'll be sacked so is playing for time and taking all the sick pay he can get, or is still very ill (if so, get well soon Mark).

Also what about Sullivan? When is he due back? Didn't he make an appearance at a match a while ago? I thought he was well on the way back.

Also, why have the supporters club 'get well soon' flags dissapeared from the bank? I've seen this mentioned elsewhere a couple of times in the last weeks but nobody seems to come up with an answer. Did Smarmes order them down? Were they stolen? come on.

Despite Sturrocks welcome arrival there does still seem to be an undercurrent in the background. Can someone in the know throw some light on this for me please?

Devlin, along with Power and Sullivan have been villafied by the current board.

How do we know what the board have said is thr truth? They dont exactly have a good track record in this area do they.

I am going to wait to hear the other side of the story first

in what way?  I know people will label the ticket price increase but Diamandis implement them and Devlin actually suggested it was a bad idea.

His previous employment history was coming into clubs with big financial problems and starting the process of recovery through cuts and promotions - like the 1st time he was here.  This was always why I was a bit puzzled by the accusations levelled against him, because if anything his history suggests he'd be more likely the man looking for cuts.  That's what made me believe the side that suggested he was acting within what he felt was the budget, it's just that nobody set anything in stone and everyone went off in their own directions.

cant be assed to go into the ins and outs rob,but it seems the reasons why he eventually left qpr were a bit contreversial

Controversial as in the director had a gun pointed at his head and felt he could no longer trust any of them so sacked them all.

As i said, i am going to wait till i hear both sides of the story before coming to any conculsions.

Knowing Mark Devlin and the way he conducts himself/competency however i doubt the boards angle at this stage
