I took over with 17 games left and they're 3 points from the relegation zone.

I've had some fun and games on my FM game. I finished 8th in my 1st season in the championship with STFC which I was pretty happy with as it was basically an overachievement for the quality that I had in the team. After that went about re-structuring the team and bolloxed it up badly. Signed too many overpaid non english speaking foreigners and after 12 games I had won just 2 and was 23rd! I didnt want to ruin my reputation by going down (and losing all the time was pi**ing me off!) so I quit. Couple of weeks later Fulham offered me the job.
Now fulham were also in the Championship by now, placed an appaling 15th. I say appaling because they still had some fecking good players - Collins John, Boa Morte, Quedrue, Niemi, Bullard + others. They did have a slight issue with their finances though, they were £10m in debt losing £800k to £1m a month due to those same players still being on premiership wages ( £15-£20k) My wage total when I joined Fulham was £250k a week, the budget was £ 47k a week !! They also had a £33 m loan repayable monthy til the year 4267 or something silly.
Anyway I made a decision that I was going to keep hold of as many of the 1st team squad as possible because they were good enough to go up. I went on a storming run, winning 13 of my 1st 15 games as Fulham boss. I could offer a massive £1200 (!!!) a week in wages to new players with a transfer bugdet of nil. Managed to get a couple of decent loans in on the cheap and then had a massive coup be getting a certian DAVID BECKHAM to sign for me for £1200 a week on an 18 month deal. He's 34, pace has gone but still very good on the ball and he did pretty well.
A month and a half before the end of the season my master plan backfired as I went into ADMINISTRATION!!! bank balance at this point was £-14m. Minus 10 points taking me from the auto promotion race to struggling to make the play offs. All offers now considered for my players, which alerted Juve to the fact that Collins John's contract was about to expire, he has arranged to sign for them at end of season.
Despite all of this, I made the play offs finishing 6th on the final day of the season. I''ll be playing the play offs tonight. Fuck knows what I'll do if I get promoted, half my teams contracts expire in a month and I can offer them about 1/20 th of what they are currently on. I'm also just about to take England to world cup 2010 having conceeded just 1 goal in qualifying
Most fun I've had playing FM for ages!!
