Tomlinson vs the Ravens defence would be good. When the Ravens crushed New Orleans in the regular season they killed Reggie Bush, so I imagine they'd target Tomlinson in a similar way

That could be an interesting match up. The NFL is incredibly hard to predict and for that reason I would much prefer to watch an NFL game to a Premiership game any day.

Just found this thread, and was pleased to see a few other Jets fans on here....whenever the NFL first appeared on Channel 4 was when I started to follow them.

Last night was not suprising, but the screw up with the backwards pass was a new way to bugger it up.  You can always rely on the Jets to find new and inventive ways to lose a game.

Long term though, I'm optimistic.  Mangini and staff are doing a good job, and Washington looks like he might just be a player.

Supporting the Jets and Swindon is one hell of a stressful combination....just glad I'm not alone.

The Jets have one of the most fantastically named players in the NFL (and there's some good ones!)

I give you...

Hey, any reason to take bits of a wall into a ground are good. Better than those dodgy D Fences.  Apparently he's named after someone in an 80s soap opera like Knotts Landing, or some such.

The future's bright, the future's green (and orange, obviously).

My allegiance is with the New England Patriots. Only really because I've been to the Gillette Stadium, saw Tom Brady at a Boston Celtics game and shared a table with a few of them in Wally's Jazz Cafe in Boston... Didn't know who they were until they were introduced by the compere. Nice enough (if not eccentric) chaps!

You wanna try supporting the fucking Bengals then. If any team can discover the secret formula to monumentally fucking themselves over, its the Bengals. But as OST will testify, they're strip is the best-looking in the NFL even if all they're cheerleaders come from Kentucky (and are, by default, all inbred).

Anyway, in true American spirit, GO BENGALS (next season  Wink )

And to add to the weird name list, I'll offer up T J Houshmanzadah (sp)

And I forgot to add, they're kit is predominantly orange, which is a good thing, right?

Hey ! What about them Broncos !

Only need not to lose at home against the worst team in the league. What do they do ? Lose in OT !

Them Broncos play partially in orange and their defence are nicknamed the 'Orange Crush'.

As for names, what about good ole Ebanezer Ekuban.

Plus, one of the Broncos best young players (Darrent Williams) was shot after the game in the early hours of new year's day !  Sad

Yea, but the Bronco's have won the Superbowl more recently than the Bengals, ergo the Bengals are more crap than the Broncos, so your argument doesn't count  Wink

I'm just waiting for the Cleveland Browns fans to come crawling out of the woodwork. They are the epitomy of crap (the team, not necessarily their fans).

Darrant Williams RIP. Any news on the hunt for his killer yet from the local network?

Latest I've seen is here:

http://cbs4denver.com/topstories/local_story_008222937.html

He was only 24 years old. Hope they catch the b*stard that did it. Javon Walker was in the car with Williams aswell but came out unscathed.

Shocking news indeed about Darrent Williams Sad

Back to wierd names though....

Ebanezer Ekuban runs D'Brickashaw Ferguson a very close second indeed.

T J Whoesyermumma for the Bengals is pretty good also (As well as being a damned good player)

Other personal favourites are Jeremiah Trotter of the Eagles who sounds like a character from a Dickens novel rather than the NFL and Richie Incognito of the Rams. And what about Antwaan Randle El Huh?

What is that all about?

Off tangent just slightly, but its worth noting that the state of Ohio is officially in mourning today following the Championship Game loss to the Florida Gators last night. Its so funny to watch  Soapy Tit Wank

That would explain why our Columbus office has been so quiet today. They've been so full of themselves all season and then they fuck it up in the big one

I guess what I mean isn't that the Jets have been the worst team over the past however many years, but it's the way they do it....

Back in the late 90s we lost to Denver in the AFC Championship game, the following season we were tipped by many to go all the way....but lost our QB (Testeverde) about a day before the season started, and that was that.   Doh

Last year, we lost two QBs inside 7 plays on the opening day....so that sucked too.... Sad

Bill Belichick was our head coach for a day too.

Oh yeah, and it was us who hit Bledsoe so hard that the Pats had to play untried Tom Brady, who has proceeded to be awesome.

In short, it can really suck being a Jet, but I wouldn't change it for the world (and especially not those establishment blue scum)

Cheers

PS Even my mate, who deliberately chose Tampa, coz they're crap has seen his team win a Superbowl!
