As sad as it is im taking the same view you are. Although we would still have a club it just wouldnt be the same.  Sad

Personally i have no connection with Swindon aside from supporting the mighty Reds, but i do have an attachment to Wiltshire in the respect that my Grandad came from Wiltshire. But honestly thats not the reason why i support Swindon ,its more force of habit Smiley .I'd sooner have a club than not one at all though and if moving away from Swindon and leaving the unbelievably useless council behind would keep us alive than so be it.But  i don't think we should consider moving too far away, and hopefully it won't come to that.

I'm with Larwood.  Swindon or bust.  I wouldn't like a move to the outskirts but that's about my limit.

Christ, they wont be moving it more than a 20 minute drive away! If a new stadium was built elsewhere within Swindon it would be a bitch to get to. It would be no worse than Stokes ground or the riverside stadum, a little bit out of town. All this talk of AFC Swindon and it not being Swindon Town anymore is rubbish. Christ, look at this way, we wont be moving well over an hour away from where we origianlly were (a la Wimbledon, Franchise) or merging with another team (like a few Scottish teams have had to do in the past) or Turn into a non league team (accrington Stanley anyone?) or even do what airdrie did and as you went bust, buy another team and steal their place in the league!

sorry, rant over. I just think alot of people are over reacting to the moving outside of SBC control issue.

As STFC supporters we believe we reserve the right to publically announce that if we should move or not move, in or out of the town (or county) we will denounce our loyalties to the aforementioned club.  If the board should make any statement of any kind in support or against such a move (or staying put), we will not tolerate it and will ask for their resignations, or long term commitment, to Swindon Town Football Club.

Now who's with me?

I'd support them how ever far the club went.

It's just another excuse for people not to watch really isn't it. The moaning bastards that go to every game will have a field day.

I'd love to say how many of those that sang 'Swindon til I die' actually live up to that.

I must be honest, I don't really imagine myself being a week in week out Swindon Town supporter for the rest of my life.  A lot of water to come under the bridge.

Surely you don't expect me to put another 50 years in at the CG do you?

So you think not following Swindon to say Gloucester for example means that you're disloyal. What bullshit.
