It's just another excuse for people not to watch really isn't it. The moaning bastards that go to every game will have a field day.
I'd love to say how many of those that sang 'Swindon til I die' actually live up to that. When exactly does Swindons stop being Swindon though. It's a personal perspective that has a different answer for you than me. As I say, even if it moved to Newbury the problem wouldn't be location because it is about 30 minutes closer to where I live. The problem is identity. I could not support a team that no longer represents what I have supported all these years. |

people shouldn't take for granted that devlin speaks the truth,you cannot expect any council to just let them do what the proposals stated.
the board must have known this,surely.
if a proper workable proposal was forthcoming,i'm hopefull the council would back it.swidons local mp has said the club should remain in swindon.
this whole saga stinks of the franchise fc, fiasco.
we must not let it happen.

Not sure I'm too keen on moving....STFC and the CG have been linked for over 100+ years, it s a great location for a ground....

Any move out of Swindon would mak it a lot harder for me to keep renewing my season ticket but if the club we're trying as hard as they could to keep the club in Swindon i would be happy to support the club wherever they end up.
Ang Reg, i agree any move out of the County Ground would be totally disheartening.

i agree, but if it comes to the club either staying at the CG and going bust or moving to a new stadium, not that far outside of swindon, but still carrying on, I dont think i'd have too much of a problem with it. Yes, it would be sad leaving the county ground, but clubs have to adapt to the world around them.

Swindon can't move to Gloucester though can they??
The furthest they can move is to an area with an SN postcode and the furthest place away is Chippenham. Is a trip down the A3102 really that much of a problem?

Id lose interest if I had to travel anywhere.It needs to be within 15 minutes of my house and thats that.I wouldnt go if it involved bus rides and stuff. Part of my reason for buying a house in Old Town, was so that I could walk down to the CG, in about 15 mins....have a couple of beers before a game and a few more after and not need to worry about transport etc. |

After walking to football at the CG for more than 50 years, a different venue would not be STFC for me. Maybe STFC should have stayed at the Croft, I've often sat up the top of the slope there and tried to imagine what it might have looked like if a ground had been built there. |
