watched it again. never a penalty

Utter, utter nonsense. Stonewall penalty and a prison sentence as far as I’m concerned.

Win our game in hand over Notts County and were 3 points adrift of the autos. We are still right in that race.

Great result,  just what Brown  -and the team - needed,  quite unexpected,  especially with CU's home record.  Still think Moore is a liability but maybe this win will lift his confidence.   Hopefully Norris will be back next week.

Very similar to early season away games.  Scrappy, looked good enough, just.  It's a right old shit league and we are still in the hunt.  Better from Norris early on, keeper is a real weak position for us.

If we can play for each other as we did today then promotion is still well on the cards.

No bad players today, some weren't still quite at thier best level but they all worked hard for each other.

Mullin, Dunne and Mayo my MoM's Moore started poorly but got better and is IMO better than RCC.

Purkiss and Robertson very solid, totally different to last week.

Hussey put in some great runs early on in the game but tired in the 2nd, good to see him back and playing well.

Mayo made some great interceptions and still looks very raw but he was almost always between the ball and our goal.

Dunnes best game for me, he passed and harried them and seemed like he had a point to prove against the team that released him in the summer.

Elsnik is still not up to pace but grew into the game, we still miss his long range efforts as he did before he suffered from injury.

Taylor looks more comfortable at left wing than LB as he can attack players and get into better positions without leaving gaps behind him, he played fairly well.

Norris had his best game in ages, won a lot of balls, passed well and took his goal well, shame he got the injury.

Richards started very poorly and forgot his role of chasing things, but in the 2nd he came back to his best, scored a nice goal at the near post and his penalty was excellent, he still doesn't reach his performance levels of before he got the captaincy though, we miss that.

Mullin played between right wing and right striker and he was probably our best player, ran with the ball and harried them all the time, looked back to his best.

Woolery came on and held the ball up well, made dribbles and didnt waste chances, was felled softly for the penalty but thats still an assist Wink looked useful.

Gordon ran around a bit but didn't do much but wasn't on for long.

McGivern nearly gave away a penalty with his first kick in a Town shirt when it was 2-1 and that could have cost us but he grew into the game and was no worse than any other defender we have, made a couple of tackles but looks like he needs game time and the timing of his tackles leave a lot to be desired.

Good solid win, more of the same next week please.

So, did we in any particular way, play any differently to Shitcroft?

What’s our record number of away wins in a season?

Think 13.

McMahon's champions.

Best in Div 4 is 12.

Not really apart from we didn't hoof the ball as often up to Richards and Norris all the time, there was a bit more build up down the wings.

I think it is a massive acheivement that we already have 10 away wins in the league with 9 away games left to play.

Thats 1 more than we got in the promotion season of 68-69 and equalled the total that we had under PdC in 2011-12!

We had 12 under Macari in 85-86 in Div 4 then 11 the season after 86-87.
The highest total being under Muckman in 95-96 with 13.

Yes we have a fair few tough away games left but we could easily eclipse the current record which would be some acheivement.
We currently sit on 11 wins with 4 away games left.

I think PV mentioned the new NORN fella nearly gave away a penalty with his first touch.

Didn’t that Murray fella do just that on the telly v Posh a while back?

Well Notts County must be crapping themselves. Someone will take advantage of that game in hand on them and to be fair it could be anyone from ourselves in joint 7th to Wycombe in 4th. This season is not over and no doubt our hearts and minds will be tested over these next 9 games. So far 1 out of 10. Win another 4/5 and we should be able to get a play-off spot. Dream big and win another 6 /7(2/3rds)... that could be enough to secure 3rd with 78pts. It really is a game at a time territory!

Notts County & Mansfield drew as did Luton, and Exeter lost 2-1. Some good results for us. Shame Wycombe, Cov and Lincoln won but that was against bottom, 20th and 22nd respectively. Let's make no excuses about today or even be modest; Cambridge have a cracking home record, whereas our away form had wavered somewhat. We didn't even play that well and got a good result here. In fact I'd say that was the result of the day in L2. Many of us had it down as a loss and we all would've taken a point even if we knew it wouldn't be enough. Did someone say "New manager bounce"
