Thanks, I can remember going to Nothampton in 86 when we won 1-0 and bricking myself as lots of Northampton fans came out of an alley way and attacked a Z Hire van full of town fans.Luckily they were able to drive off as they were trying to force the back doors open Scary or what
was at this one, town fan got stabbed before the game, after the game it went mental cars being rolled, fighting all over, the police did'nt have a clue

I do find the reminiscing interesting, just find it funny to take the piss a little (even if pre-emptively) in case anyone tries to get all 'hard man'.
Bogus Dave, my favourite thing about that scene (other than the rest of it of course) is he doesn't put the handbrake on at the start. Genius.
And what the hell is common room banter.

Yeah I remember and that was the mob we accidently came across before the game, also remember that two swindon double deckers had to be escorted back to oxford and that there was alot of history between the clubs with swindon smashing their pub up a season or two earlier

Going back to the 70s we ambushed Cardiff down by the bus station, used to be a couple of giant advertising hoardings down there and about 100 of us ran them all the way to the train station. Millmoor was a horrible ground to go and get away from all the little alley ways and that was the days when the home fans were allowed into the away end, first time there i saw all these lads with red and white scarfs on and thought to myself what a great turn out, eh eh ....wrong all riotherham fans with just a small bunch of town fans in the far corner with a couple of coppers between us, how i escaped without a kicking that day, as i know of at least 1 town fan spent a few days in hospital there.

Anything that isn't glorifying football hooliganism, apparently.

Donkey jackets, combat trousers, doc martin boots, scarfes around the wrist, home made banners made from sheets to wrap around shoulders, ring any bells? Then came the skinhead era ,scary!!!
